Nicole and Joe married in Brooklyn
A couple weeks ago, I photographed a small, casual wedding in a West Village garden. It was a change of pace from the larger and more detail oriented weddings I have been shooting. The size in no way diminished the bond between the couple, Mindy and Tony. And the more intimate environment was ideal for their down to earth, close friends and family.

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with photographer Olivier Lalin shooting a wedding in New York. The ceremony was held at the St. Stanislas Kostka Church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and the reception was held at the prestigious Essex House in Manhattan.
The bride and groom, Joanne and Anand were in great spirits despite having a number of guests absent due to widespread European flight cancellations because of an ash cloud coming from an Icelandic volcano. The best man would not be stopped and got his toast in via a secret-recorded video toast that was projected at the reception. Olivier, who is based out of Paris mentioned that he had gotten on the last flight out of Paris.
It was a testament to all the things that can happen on a wedding day that are out of your hands, but also how with a little love it can still be a joyous occasion.
Here is a selection of my take from the day,
